I fail so hard at updating. But then, I always have.

Been *very* slow on the writing front, seeing as like 70% of my life is consumed by work, but I am working on a small L/Mello (gen) one-shot that may get finished within the next few days.

Still playing Mello over at Kannagara, though I've been horribly slow, lately. Just came off of a hiatus and I've yet to tag anything. Actually, I think I'll go do that now.

So a few relevant things have happened over the last few months, but the one thing I'd like to bring up first is that IyHedonism, the first fiction contest community I ever modded on LJ came to a close yesterday.

Two years, 100 prompts, massive amounts of fics and participation, and man, I've gotta say that though I stepped down as co-mod a while back, it was really sad to see it come to an end. Leaving Inuyasha fandom was the closing of a chapter. This is like the ending of a novel. Even when I left it, I just kind of assumed that it would always be there. It still is, as an archive, but seeing it go affected me way sadder than I thought it would, honestly.

Ah, well. Que sera sera. All good things must come to an end.

Second thing: The game that we were running on Proboards also came to a close, but that is hardly saddening, as we all still pretty much play together and it -is- extremely hard to keep a canon-cast game running. I've learned this.



But! On to happier things~

A little while back, I picked up Mello over at Kannagara, a panfandom game on LJ and I have to say that after going through a few games and trying to find my place, I think I finally have. The writers there are nothing short of breathtaking, the setting is sublime, the mods are possibly the best I've ever seen, and I am having a fucking blast.

Their standard of writing is -insane-. Like, I've never seen so many good writers from so many fandoms grouped together in the same place. Their Naruto cast has pretty much made me want to pick up the anime. I hated Naruto. This is how amazing they are. Annnd I snagged my B player to come over with me, so this makes it a million times more fun. It's great to keep friends with you when you try out new things.

On the fic front, when I do have some time (haha, yeah right), I intend on starting a MxM chapter fic that I refuse to post until every chapter is written and edited. I just hate leaving readers hanging when I get bored with a story, so I figure that if I never finish it, no harm, no foul. Good deal.

Just a quick update.

The game that we were originally going to open on DW has found its home on Proboards.

Most of our canon spots have been filled, but there are still a few open. If you stop by, you can check out what is what under our registration board. Original characters are always welcome and as of right now, apps are going to stay open indefinitely.

We need a Mikami and Misora! Badly. Like breath. So if you have any experience with either of those characters, be sure to come check us out.

On the fic front, I've been slowing down on my writing, just because playing takes up so much time and energy. I'm still writing drabbles for some comms on LJ and I have the ideas for a chapter fic swimming around in my head, but it's going to be a while before the process starts.

Oh! And on the squee front: One of my fics was translated into Russian, which I think is insanely flattering and awesome. It's always sweet to know that the love of fic overcomes language barriers. :P

Aside from attempting to complete this Lime table over on LJ, I've decided to begin putting together a canon Death Note game over on Dreamwidth.org. It's still in what can't even be considered preliminary stages, but the wheels are turning.

I say it'll be up in a month. That means two.

I find that for some reason, canon games tend to die out quickly, and so my main aim is to make sure this doesn't happen. I've already acquired a co-moderator and have the basic application written out. Rules will be pretty simple, yet specific and layout...yeah. We're not even going to think of that right now.

But, if anyone happens upon this page who would be interested in possibly apping for a character, you can email me at keehlmiheal@gmail.com. If you don't have a DW account, don't even worry about it. We're collecting invite codes in order to remedy this situation.
